He is known for his evergreen Appearance, Self discipline, and Humility. He has performed nearly 750 times in various prominent roles in dramas and stages across all over India. He is a modest disciplinarian for which the entire world looks upon him with respect.

He is not only known for his versatility in acting but for his paintings of Bhradeeswara Temple, Meenakshi Temple, Thirumalai Naicker Mahal and Mahatama Gandhi. His work Idhu Rajapathai Alla, a widely acknowledged book was included in the 91- 92 curriculum of Loyola College, Chennai. The book contains more than 50 paintings of Sivakumar. At anytime he could recite the verses of Tamil poet Bharathiar and poems of Sangam literature with flair and ease.
